Organizing Principle of the Idea

The Idea is the unity of concept and objectivity — not as a subsequent synthesis, but as a process that produces, preserves, and develops itself. The movement proceeds in three stages of increasing awareness: life (immediate self-relation — preserving itself without knowing why), cognition and willing (divided self-relation — theory and practice as separate perspectives), absolute Idea (self-knowledge of method — logic becomes aware of its own forms of movement).
