The stage of thought between immediate intuition and the pure concept. Representation internalizes sensible intuition into images and memories (Ch. 21.2), but has not yet penetrated to conceptual necessity. In the philosophy of spirit, religion is the sphere of truth in the form of representation (Ch. 29.2).
