Hegel (logic of essence, opposite of "formal")

"Reell" means content-laden, filled with actuality. Real possibility has conditions in actuality (not merely conceivable, but implementable). The "reell" distinction is a distinction of content (not merely formal difference). Often used by Hegel synonymously with "real." The reell is the realized, substantive, as opposed to the merely formal.

Origin

Lat. realis (factual, actual). Scholasticism: res (thing) - realitas as substantive content. Kant: real opposition (A and -A) vs. logical contradiction. Hegel: "reell" as counter-concept to abstract-formal.
