Hegel (Logic) & recurring throughout
Not an external procedure, but the self-movement of the matter itself. Method is the result of logic - the absolute idea as insight into the self-development of thought. "The method is the consciousness of the form of the inner self-movement of its content" (Science of Logic).
Origin
Traditionally: method as tool (Descartes). In Hegel: method as self-organization of the content.
