Ludwig Christoph Ferdinand Asverus

Ludwig Christoph Ferdinand Asverus (1760–1830) was a legal councillor and syndic in Jena.

He handled Hegel’s legal affairs — in the letters he appears as legal counsel, not as a conversation partner. His son Gustav was among the students on whose behalf Hegel intervened after the Carlsbad Decrees.
