Julius Frauenstädt

Julius Frauenstädt (1813–1879) was Schopenhauer’s student and executor of his literary estate.

He had initially started out among the Hegelians and then switched sides — a path several took once Schopenhauer’s fame began to rise in the 1850s. What makes him interesting here is his double knowledge: he knew both systems from the inside.
