Tool
Hegel (Critique) / Our Methodology
A means employed to attain an end (Ch. 16.3). Hegel criticizes the notion that logic is a mere "tool" (formal logic), since this separates form and content. In this presentation, however, the logical categories are referred to as "tools" for the search for truth (Ch. 1.4, 13.7, 26.7), in order to emphasize their practical applicability.
