The third and highest form of reflection, the unity of positing and external reflection. Determining reflection recognizes: the presupposed is itself something posited --- but *necessarily* posited.

Determining reflection overcomes: - the emptiness of positing reflection (which finds only itself) - the externality of external reflection (which does not penetrate the given)

Understanding that the categories with which I comprehend the world, while posited by me, are not arbitrary --- they are the necessary form of comprehension itself.
