The principle of shaping [Gestaltung]. Hegel develops it out of the line: "the point must therefore pass over into the line. Here we arrive at magnetism. It is the principle of shaping. It is abstract shaping — the opposite is the sphere."
Origin: Steffens distinguished total and abstract cohesion; Schelling mediates it. Hegel turns this into the principle of shaping.
