Christian August Fischer
1771-1829
Christian August Fischer (1771–1829) traveled after his studies as a trade agent through almost all of Europe, especially Spain, returned to Germany in 1798, and became a professor.
His travel accounts belonged to the literature from which educated Germany formed its picture of its European neighbors — the same genre from which Hegel drew for his lectures on world history.
