Wilhelm von Preußen

Wilhelm von Preußen (1783–1851) was a son of Frederick William II, served in the Prussian army, and became Governor-General of the Rhine Province in 1830.

He belonged to the Berlin court, at whose margin Hegel’s university stood — the relationship between crown and philosophy was closer than Hegel would have liked, and looser than his opponents claimed.
