Margaretha Wilhelmina Gogel
1785-1849
Margaretha Wilhelmina Gogel (1785–1849) was a daughter of Johann David Gogel and grew up, after her father’s death, in the household of her uncle Johann Noe.
She was among the children whom Hegel taught in Frankfurt. That girls too took part in the lessons was not unusual in merchant families — unlike the Latin schools, which admitted only boys.
