Leopold Dorotheus von Henning

Leopold Dorotheus von Henning (1791–1866) studied law, served as a volunteer in the Wars of Liberation, and was arrested following the Carlsbad Decrees.

Hegel intervened on his behalf, as he did for Gustav Asverus and Karl Ulrich. After his release, Henning became Hegel’s student and later a professor in Berlin; he was among the editors of the collected works after Hegel’s death.
