Karl Christian Müller

Karl Christian Müller (1775–1847) earned his doctorate in Wittenberg in 1806, agitated against French rule, and became a councilor (Hofrat) in the Prussian statistical office in 1817.

He belongs to the patriotic publicists of the Wars of Liberation — the movement from which the Burschenschaft (the German student fraternity movement) emerged, and against whose German nationalist excess Hegel took a stand throughout his life.
