Johann Ludwig Heiberg
1791-1860
Johann Ludwig Heiberg (1791–1860) was, from 1822, lecturer in Danish at Kiel and visited Berlin in 1824, where he heard Hegel lecture.
He became the most important mediator of Hegel in Denmark — and thus the figure against whom Kierkegaard worked himself out. The Danish critique of Hegel, which later had an effect back on the continent, was directed at first against Heiberg’s version.
