Johann Heinrich Liebeskind

Johann Heinrich Liebeskind (1768–1849) was an advocate in Riga, a criminal court councillor in Königsberg, and from 1807 senior judicial councillor in Bamberg.

In Bamberg he belonged to Hegel’s circle — both were advocates of Napoleonic legislation in a city that had only just become part of Bavaria. Hegel edited the Bamberger Zeitung at the time and wrote in support of the new legal order.
