Friedrich Heinrich Christian Schwarz

Friedrich Heinrich Christian Schwarz (1766–1837) was, from 1804 on, professor of pedagogy and theology in Heidelberg.

He was among the colleagues who supported Hegel’s appointment to Heidelberg. His theory of education followed in the tradition of Pestalozzi — a direction that Hegel, as headmaster of the Nuremberg Gymnasium, had tested in practice and regarded with reservations.
