Ernst Joachim Forster

Ernst Joachim Förster (1800–1885) studied in Berlin and attended Hegel’s lectures; from 1825 he trained in Munich as a painter and art historian.
He was a brother of Friedrich Christoph Förster, who belonged to Hegel’s close circle. Through the two of them, Hegel’s influence reached into circles that did not work philosophically — painting, journalism, art history.
