Benedikt von Schwarz

Benedikt von Schwarz (1771–1832) was a manufacturer and merchant in Nuremberg and married a sister of Marie Hegel in 1825.
Through him, Hegel became connected by marriage to the Nuremberg merchant bourgeoisie — the very stratum whose rise he described in the Philosophy of Right as civil society.
