Theodor Echtermeyer

Theodor Echtermeyer (1805–1844) co-edited, with Arnold Ruge, the Hallische Jahrbücher, the organ of the Young Hegelians.

The journal became the place where the school split: what began as scholarly criticism turned, within a few years, into political opposition. In 1841 Ruge moved it to Dresden and renamed it Deutsche Jahrbücher; in 1843 the Federal Diet banned it.
