Karl Gottlieb Bretschneider

Karl Gottlieb Bretschneider (1776–1848) was Superintendent General in Gotha and one of the most influential Protestant theologians of his time.

He held a critical view of Hegel’s philosophy of religion and was among those who, in the dispute over religion, warned against the dissolution of faith into concept.
