Friedrich Richter

Friedrich Richter (1807–1856) belonged to the left wing and wrote on the question of immortality.

His Lehre von den letzten Dingen [Doctrine of the Last Things] of 1833 disputed personal immortality, drawing on Hegel in support. This opened the controversy that, a few years later, would split the school apart with Strauss’s Life of Jesus.
